Politician's Aides Point Guns at Anakpawis Pollwatcher in Masbate

Rotello Legaspi, a pollwatcher for Anakpawis Party-list in Brgy. Suba, Dimasalang, Masbate, complained of harassment by a local candidate in their area.

Darwin Avela, Anakpawis coordinator in Masbate, told Bulatlat that bodyguards of Babycel Cabrera Almario pointed their guns at Rotello Legaspi at 10 a.m. today after he witnessed an anomaly in the precinct he was tasked to monitor.

Avela said that Babycel is the wife of Alex Almario, incumbent board member of the 3rd district of the province. Alex Almario is seeking another term.

Avela said they are now investigating the incident and are planning to file charges.

The incident happened despite the election gun ban, police control of the area and deployment of military troops in the province. Bulatlat
