8 Rights Workers in Southern Tagalog Abducted

Eight members of the human rights group Karapatan- Southern Tagalog were abducted today while on a fact finding mission in Catanauan, Quezon.

The fact finding mission team was on their way home at around 10-11a.m. when soldiers from the 74th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army stopped them and separated the eight human rights advocates, who are members of Karapatan-Rizal and ST Exposure, an independent media group, from the rest of the team. The incident happened at Bgy. Tagbakan Ibaba, Catanauan, Quezon.

The names of the abducted persons are Cristine Tulay, Virgilio Tulay, Ramos Lastique, Nora de Dios, Racquel Aguemento, Bong de Leon, Cristine Mae Guray and Mary Jane Amoete. Bulatlat
