Leyte Judge Allows Ocampo to Stay

Romeo Capulong, counsel for Rep. Satur Ocampo, announced in a gathering for Ocampo at Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan, that the Leyte judge granted the petition to allow Ocampo’s continued detention in Manila by placing him under the custody of Local Government Undersec. Marius Corpus.  Capulong said that Ocampo would, thus, no longer be transferred unless ordered by the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the solidarity gathering for Ocampo this morning was attended by former vice-pres. Teofisto Guingona, Mayor Jejomar Binay of Makati, Mayor JV Ejercito of San Juan, Rep. Francis Escudero, Rep. Gilbert Remulla, Rep. Erin Tanada, former senator Wigberto Tanada, Koko Pimentel, who is running for senator, lawyers Harry Roque and Vicky Avena, movie directors Joel Lamangan and Carlitos Siguion-Reyna, National Artist Bienvenido Lumbera, Bibeth Orteza, Rep. Liza Maza of Gabriela Women’s Party, Rep. Rafael Mariano of Anakpawis, among others.Bulatlat
