Who says rallies are all fire and intensity? The last Labor Day rally was definitely peaceful, as shown by the fact that the woman in black T-shirt even found time to pick fleas from a friend’s hair. The way both look in this photo, the fear of a riot erupting seems to be the farthest thing from their minds, as they rest comfortably by the fountain at Liwasang Bonifacio, a favorite of Manila’s hangers-on. The day would end proving them right with a fireworks display ending the half-day political cum cultural rally participated in by 30,000 activists.
