PRAYER AND PROTEST 

A Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) union member tearfully prays the rosary for her job and the ouster of GSIS president Winston Garcia. When photographed by Bulatlat, she was at the protest action of GSIS employees and other government employees who accused Garcia of unfair labor practices and malversation of public funds. Before the protest, they received text messages saying that they would lose their jobs if they didn’t return to work. Like the beleaguered Christians of the Roman Empire, she and many of her co-employees believe that the combination of faith and action would save them.
