MEMORABILIA
China
after Mao Zedong, who led the Chinese people to victory in their
anti-imperialist and socialist revolution in 1949, is described by many
observers as undergoing a process of de-Maoification – courtesy of the
leaders who came after him. However, he just wouldn’t go away. Not only do
there remain believers in Mao Zedong’s ideology. Today, his images still
abound in many public places in China – including this store in Beijing,
which includes lots of Mao memorabilia in its items.
