Fruit of the Election Season: Not Ripe for the Taking

This mango vendor is apparently oblivious to the noise of passing vehicles and even election gimmicks. Sleeping while guarding his green mangoes at a park located near one of Cebu's main thoroughfares, he represents the poor Filipinos who have better things to do than pay attention to the antics of politicians trying to win over their hearts and minds. If elections cannot guarantee an improvement in one’s unrewarding toil, when will the conditions for change be ripe for the taking? Green mangoes, anyone?
