PHOTO OF THE WEEK

Away with the Heat

After an unusually cold season that unexpectedly got extended beyond the last days of January, Philippine weather monitors have predicted an extremely hot summer. The coming summer months will also coincide with the greater bulk of this year’s election season, hinting that the next few months would be literally and figuratively very hot. This early, these beachgoers in San Fernando City, La Union (269 kms. north of Manila) must have found the weather uncommonly hot. The way things look, it was not enough for them to simply take a plunge: they had to carry their tent and table to a deeper part of the shore just so they could drink their cold beverages while swimming.
