Indonesia’s BNP2TKI said the overseas remittances by Indonesian migrant workers amounted to Rp 88.6 trillion ($7.35 billion) during the period of January to December 2013. Despite this, however, migrant workers from both countries are not getting the protection and assistance they need in times of distress.
