land reform: 
where the shoe pinches 

This pair of feet belongs to a 58-year old farmer (full-body photo, right) from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan who joined the march to the presidential palace last June 10, hoping to make President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo listen to his plight. The land he tills is being claimed by the Araneta clan which has already mortgaged it to Manila Banking Corporation  despite the government's agrarian reform program. These feet are the feet of a peasant born to hardship; they are also the feet of a resolute fighter.
