UNCERTAIN FUTURE 

These peasant children in Negros Occidental can barely manage a smile as they sit by a box and a sack which appear to contain their few belongings. They must be among the multitudes of peasants driven by hunger off the lands they till, forced to try their fortune elsewhere. Will they be like so many others before them, treading long roads in search of a better life, only to find themselves in conditions no different from—if not worse than—the life they abandoned?
