DUMAGUETE CITY - Anak ng Bayan (children of nation) party-list nominee Ronald Ian Evidente, temporarily released after posting a P100,000-bail, blamed the Revolutionary Proletarian Army (RPA), party-list group Alab Katipunan (AK), and the military for his arrest and detention.

Evidente was accused of killing RPA commanding officer Erlito Potestas.

He said that these groups were behind the plot to silence him, as the trumped-up murder charge was filed by the wife of an RPA leader.

Aside from the RPAs, Evidente also linked the police, military and some politicians who, according to him, connived to have him locked behind bars to prevent him from actively campaigning for Anak ng Bayan youth party-list of which he is the fifth nominee.

He said that the RPAs vented their ire on him for consistently exposing the human rights violations committed by the armed group.

Evidente also linked the AK to his arrest which he claimed is supported by the RPA. In several instances, it attempted to discredit Anak ng Bayan and other progressive party-list groups. Bulatlat.com
