As books like these are becoming more and more expensive in the “legitimate” school supply stores, people now look for ambulant vendors for books that cost less. In more ways than one, this scene mirrors the state of education – with parents increasingly sending their children to the public schools which many of them used to shun, as tuition in private schools becomes more and more unaffordable.
