Two
Kalinga Students Summarily Killed? The
brutal killing of two Kalinga students remains unsolved in the eyes of
cause-oriented groups and individuals as authorities and mainstream media
in Baguio City conclude that the crime is due to a tribal war. By

CITY – Ethnic groups here are demanding justice for the brutal slaying
of two Kalinga students last June.
Authorities
and the mainstream media attributed the killings to “tribal wars” in
Kalinga. The
victims’ families, friends and concerned groups and individuals that the
two were summarily executed. Gac-oy and Bulakit, they said, could not have
died from a tribal war because the killings were extremely brutal. The
KPA demanded swift justice for the victims and called on authorities to
stop the brutal killings. The victims’ families also called on the media to tell the truth about the deaths of Gac-oy and Bulakit. Media reports were based mainly on the statements of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) that the killing stemmed from a tribal war.
