OF THE WEEK

Not Too Young
The series of taped
mobile-phone conversations involving President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and
election commissioner Virgilio Garcillano has reinforced the widespread
suspicion that the present Malacañang occupant cheated her way to victory
in the 2004 election. Thus even those not normally expected to be seen in
anti-government actions have been seen joining these, like this boy
photographed while affixing his signature on a placard calling on the
President to resign from her post. He may look too young to be expected
to sign up, but here he is signing his name on the anti-Arroyo placard.
He’s not too young to be having a sense of right and wrong, after all.
