PHOTO OF THE WEEK

Picture-perfect

Two news photographers are captivated by the fog-covered rice terraces in Madongo village, Sagada, Mt. Province (about 13 hours north of Manila). Nurtured for centuries by native Kankanaey farmers, the rain-fed rice terraces carved out from high mountains and hills are still the main source of life for the people in this idyllic town. The Kankanaeys of Mt. Province still farm in the old way, manually and without modern farm inputs like fertilizers. The photographers are apparently very much impressed and they have a field day shooting the breathtaking view.
