Tagbilaran City- With posters everywhere, flyers and sample ballots scattered here and there, political dynasties competing for supremacy, word wars over the radio and on print, HOT aptly describes the election atmosphere this side of the earth.

Then again, the heat of the elections just couldn’t beat the summer heat in this island.

What better way is there to enjoy the season and beat the heat but to embrace nature’s endearing beauty, be it near the sea or up the hills. And here in Bohol, you can never run out of choices.

If you are a sea-lover, this island is more than willing to embrace you with its cool, crystal-clear waters at Panglao island, Anda, Garcia-Hernandez or Loay among others.

Trekkers and high-land enthusiasts will never run out of hills and mountains to explore. Majestic mountains dot the island, not to mention the world-famous chocolate hills.

So, if the election fever tires you, bores you, irritates you, or pumps your blood pressure high in the days to come, a really refreshing break will do you a lot of good and a visit to this resplendent island will definitely calm your soul. Contributed to Bulatlat
