As the people suffer double misery – being already poor to begin with, and now with their conditions worsening due to the effects of the global financial crisis – the Arroyo family and their political allies are having the time of their lives as they wallow in the spoils of big-time corruption. The contents of the country’s coffers are divided only among a few while the people live in penury.
