The Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP-Peasant Movement of the Philippines) condemned the killing of the latest impeachment complaint filed against Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The House of Representatives on Tuesday formally voted down the fourth and latest impeachment complaint. The complaint accused Mrs. Arroyo of graft and corruption, bribery, betrayal of public trust and culpable violation of the Constitution.

Danilo Ramos, KMP secretary general said,”The majority in the House of Representatives is showing its all-out puppetry to President Arroyo…The power of political blackmail and money ruled anew at Congress, saving a human rights violator and corrupt president from being legally removed.”

Earlier, the Committee on Justice of the House of Representatives ruled the impeachment complaint as “insufficient in substance” saying charges are rehashed and recycled.

Ramos asked, “How can issues be called rehashed or recycled when they have never been processed or resolved?”

The group said they will campaign against the 183 representatives who voted for the junking of the impeachment.(Bulatlat.com)
