An African-American, a veteran of the Vietnam War, starkly looks at the camera as he mans a booth selling souvenir military patches and insignias. The booth is conveniently located near Washington, DC’s Vietnam War Memorial – a long stretch of polished black granite wall that inscribes the names of 58,209 U.S. soldiers including many Fil-Am troopers who died during the war. Thousands of veterans have found themselves abandoned by the U.S. government after being used in its war of aggression. Photo by Nicanor Segovia / Bulatlat
