Benjie Oliveros | Measuring the Candidates for the Presidency

* Would he continue with the policies of the Arroyo government that constrict civil liberties and allow impunity in the commission of human rights violations or would he promote and protect civil liberties and human rights?

On Peace

* Would he continue the counterinsurgency and counter-terror program of the Arroyo government or would he work for a just and lasting peace through peace negotiations that would genuinely address the root causes of the armed conflict?

On Economic Policy

* Would he continue with the Arroyo government’s policies of deregulation, privatization, and liberalization that are pushing the country deeper into crisis and backwardness or would he implement an economic program that would develop the country to become self-reliant and would be beneficial to the Filipino people?

* How does he plan to control the profiteering and overpricing schemes of the big oil and pharmaceutical companies?

* How does he plan to control the prices of basic goods and services?

On People’s Welfare

* Would he continue with the Arroyo government’s policies allowing contractualization and depressing wages or would he protect job security and push for legislation providing for living wages?

* Would he work for the creation of jobs locally or pursue the labor export policy?

* Would he continue protecting the interests of landlords and big corporations or would he work for a genuine land reform program?

* Would he allow mining and logging corporations to destroy the environment and rob the indigenous peoples of their ancestral lands or would he work for the protection of the environment, the judicious use of the country’s natural resources for the people’s benefit, and respect for indigenous people’s rights?

* Would he maintain the feudal, patriarchal system that is oppressive to women or work for the removal of all laws, policies and practices that reinforce women’s oppression?

* Would he continue with the policy of privatizing basic services and utilities, which leaves the people vulnerable to the profiteering designs of big corporations, or would he implement a comprehensive social program?

More could be added to the list. The essential point is whether he would work for genuine change that would protect and promote the people’s rights, interests, and welfare or continue protecting the interests of the few rich and powerful families and corporations, local and foreign. (Bulatlat.com)

  1. Dennis you're a genius I agree w/ you 100%But have you seen how the Predators manipulated the selection process? Malinaw na ayaw nila or takot sila na maging Presidente si BF.Puro magnanakaw yang mga yan! Who among the Kawatan's will support a great administrator,honest,hard working, intelligent,vissionary leader like Bayani Fernando? Classic example here was the cost difference of the DPWH's proposed tunnel 600 million pesos against BF's 300million pesos elevated U turn.they were all threatened by what BF said on TV that cause of corruption in our country is due to wrong engineering plans.Mr Ermita , let us all help & unite in helping Bayani Fernando to be our next President.Our country needs a leader like him.He's already 63 yrs. old & he wants to join the govt. to serve & not to get RICH.How can we tell the people all over the philppines about this , about Bf? Helppppppp!

  2. I am an AIM graduate management consultant and taking doctor in public administration in UP.

    The way to solve the Bayani, Noli and Gibo issue is to apply the classical Management Decision Making Technique that top level managers worldwide use.

    It starts with setting criteria: Survey, Loyalty Personal Logistics and endorsements.

    Ranking the three on this criteria:

    Logistics: Bayani, Gibo, Noli

    Survey: Noli, Bayani, Gibo

    Loyalty: Bayani, Gibo, Noli

    Endorsements: Noli(PGMA),Gibo (Governors), Bayani

    Combined Ranking:

    Bayani = 1st, 2nd, 1st, 3rd = 7 pts First

    Noli = 3rd, 1st, 3rd, 1st = 8 pts Second

    Gibo = 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd = 9 pts Third

    Conclusion: Bayani Fernando is the best bet of Lakas Kampi CMD based on the criteria of popularity, loyalty, logistics and endorsement.

    If Bayani Fernando will not be chosen,it will show that Lakas Kampi CMD is not a rational party and it will not gain the respect of the Filipino people and other politicians.

    Bayani Fernando and his followers has also the reason to support other parties "kasi inonse sya ng sarili nyang partido..

    Therefore: Bayani For President

    Noli For Vice President

    Gibo for Senate President
