In La Trinidad, Benguet, a “signal man” of a private contracting firm places a warning sign above Little Kibungan, which is now buried in mud and rocks due to landslides caused by typhoon Pepeng in 2009. The landslide killed more than a hundred residents.

With the coming of the wet season, heavy rains have started to saturate loose soil, especially government-identified geohazards like this, that may potentially threaten numerous lives and properties.
