Photo of the Week: After the Fire

Urban poor communities in Davila, Barangay Navotas West, and Pitong Gatang, Barangay Sipac-Almacen, were almost burned down to the ground, after a six-hour fire razed the homes of around 4,000 families on August 28.

Affected residents, mostly fisherfolks, porters, vendors, tricycle and pedicab operators, are now staying in evacuation centers, relying on relief goods to surive. Local government officials discouraged them to return to their communities and offered them ‘Balik Probinsya’ packages.

Private claimants have already placed barbed-wire fences around the burned communities, believed to be the areas where the North Bay Business Park will be situated, as well as a dike and the extension C-4 road.

  4. Unquestionably believe that which you said. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the web the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get irked while people think about worries that they just don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks
