Salungguhit: Circuitous Road to Justice

During his inaugural address, President Benigno S. Aquino III talked boldly about the need to pursue justice. “There can be no reconciliation without justice,” he declared.

But the path to justice under the current administration seems to be taking a circuitous road.  First, the government went through the process of creating a Truth Commission instead of immediately hauling former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to court.  Now, the Truth Commission is being questioned before the Supreme Court.

In the meantime, the former president, now a representative of the 2nd district of Pampanga, seems to be having a grand time, cornering a whopping P2.2 billion in pork barrel funds.
