News in Pictures: Migrant Group Hits Government for “Deadline” in Evacuation of OFWs in Libya

MANILA — The global alliance of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) Migrante International on Thursday criticized the Department of Foreign Affairs for setting a “deadline” for the evacuation and repatriation of distressed Filipinos in Libya, when only six percent of 26,000 Filipinos scheduled to return have arrived in Manila.

Migrante International pointed out that majority of the repatriated OFWs were able to return to the country through the assistance of their employers and recruitment agencies, citing the case of Migrante-Libya coordinator Gil Lebria (above). Lebria arrived in Manila on Wednesday evening through the help of his German employer. (Photos by Gregorio B. Dantes Jr. / (https://www.bulatlat.com))
