The LGBTQIA+ community in the Philippines remains vulnerable to discrimination and hate crimes. The Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity & Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) Equality Bill is still pending in Congress after 25 years. For the Filipino queer community, Pride serves as a venue for protest as systemic problems persist.
