Totally disregarding human rights, police forces arrested former vice president Teofisto Guingona, Bp. Julio Labayen, Fr. Robert Reyes, former UP president Dodong Nemenzo and media people covering the stand-off at Manila Peninsula in Makati. Media people were caught by surprise after they were handcuffed and taken to a bus along with Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim, soldier-members of Magdalo and their civilian supporters. The arrest of the civilians and media personnel were not explained by the police. The police initially told the media that they were merely being invited to Bicutan for questioning. But when they asserted their rights, they were promptly handcuffed and taken to the bus.
