Casambre said the Arroyo government has announced a policy shift to Disarmament, Demobilization, Reintegration (DDR) in the peace negotiations.

Casambre said the DDR will not work unless important agreements to address the armed conflict have been reached.

The NDFP, on the other hand, said, in a press release dated December 6, that it received information that the Arroyo government plans to terminate the GFP-NDFP peace negotiations and blame the NDFP for the termination. In response, the NDFP said, “The NDFP is not bothered by such threats and plans of the Arroyo-Ermita-Gonzales-Esperon militarist clique.”

The militarist clique referred to by the NDFP consists of Mrs. Arroyo, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales and Presidential Peace Adviser and Former AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Hermogenes Esperon.

“The lameduck Arroyo regime is coming soon to an end. There are only six months left before Confesor’s ‘election babble’ preoccupies everyone on the GRP side. The NDFP is already looking forward to a new GRP administration.” (Bulatlat.com)
