Members of the Katipunan ng mga Samahan ng Anakpawis (KASAMA) held a lightning rally on Litex Road in Quezon City this morning. Today is the eve of the 38th anniversary of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).

The group denounced efforts by Malacanang Palace allies to amend the Philippine Constitution, saying it will pave the way for a complete sell-out of the country’s patrimony to foreign dictates and interests. It also accused the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo regime of planning to extend its term beyond 2010.

KASAMA called on the people to “smash the ruling system and install a democratic government truly representative of the people.”

The group also called on the people in urban poor communities to join the national democratic revolution against United States imperialism and the ruling local elite. It further challenged its members to “contribute to the intensification of the people’s war by joining the New People’s Army (NPA).

KASAMA is an underground mass organization of workers and the informal sector based in urban poor communities. It is an allied organization of the NDFP. (Bulatlat.com)
