Street vendors were seen selling these turtles along Duterte Street in Davao City, for Php40-Php50 each depending on the size.
The vendors said they caught the turtles somewhere in Midsayap, North Cotabato, and they have already sold 20 out of the 30 turtles they brought that day.
Marine and wildlife conservation groups say that most species of turtles are now listed as threatened or endangered.
