Inspired by the culture of body painting in the Visayas, artist Armand Jake Dayoha (Instagram: @mr.aramanada) paid homage to the ancient art custom. Introducing his works of art, Dayoha stressed out how Western art influenced local artists, relegating the use of indigenous elements to the margins.
“It would be unfair for the public, for those who helped us if we will not talk about what happened. We owe the public the truth.”
Danilo Gumanao said his daughter was able to reach out to them on Sunday, Jan. 15, asking to be rescued in a resort in Carmen, Cebu. She said they were left by their abductors at the said resort.
“We are demanding the urgent action and cooperation of state forces in our collective efforts to identify the whereabouts of Dyan and Armand. We assert that there is nothing wrong with their work and the advocacies they carry with them, and that citizens who decisively tread the path that they have should not be harassed, threatened, silenced, or arrested.”
