In the midst of the ongoing investigation of the United Nations special rapporteur on extra judicial executions, Philip Alston, on the spate of political killings in the country, another student leader of a progressive organization was killed last night, Feb. 15.

Farly Alcantara, 22, was shot dead by still unidentified men in front of the gates of the Camarines Norte State College in Daet, Camarines Norte at around 9:45 p.m., a report from the regional chapter of the human rights group Karapatan (Alliance for the Advancement of Peoples’ Rights) said.

Alcantara, an active member of the League of Filipino Students (LFS) in the province, was supposed to graduate this March with a degree in BSBA Economics. (Bulatlat.com)
