the gods would disturb your sleep
since you have disturbed their waking
they take your body and probe
every marrow,
every bone,
every scar,
real or imaginary
and claim a crime was committed,
a father has forsaken you
leading you to this fate
so you are no longer a saint
the words you wrote with tears
of poverty in paradise
was a lie
and peace is brought back to paradise
but what these gods say would not silence
our mortal souls
for you have awakened us
with words
that open our eyes
to see that
every shanty
every child
every empty plate
cries for liberation
this is your truth
that someday will
set us free
