Troops with tanks and armed personnel carriers and police officers have been massing up around the Manila Peninsula where Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim have been holding out after walking out of the hearing for charges of coup d etat at the Makati Regional Trial Court.

Three V150 commando tanks from Camp Bagong Diwa and one simba tank from Camp Aguinaldo with caliber 50 machine guns and each carrying eight to ten personnel were seen parked at the side of the hotel in Ayala Ave. Also sighted were 2 armed personnel carriers carrying soldiers from the Philippine Marines. Meanwhile police officers were seen donning gas masks and bullet proof vests and carrying grenades apparently in preparation for an assault. Gen. Leo Santiago of the police Special Action Force said that they would still try to negotiate for Trillanes’ surrender. If not, Santiago said, they are prepared to act.(Bulatlat.com)
