Employees Appeal to Aquino

Ellen Gavadan, president of the BF Supervisor’s Union, said they are appealing to President Benigno Aquino III to help them. She said that the president should intervene in the issue because what was happening was “economic sabotage.”

Gavadan has also accused officials and staff of the PDIC of harassing the Banco Filipino employees and violating their labor rights.

“We are prepared to fight against this and defend our rights as regular employees. We will go to the Department of Labor and Employment and to the Supreme Court,” she said.

The group Defend Job Philippines said that the Aquino government should take urgent steps to resolve the issue and put first the interest of the Banco Filipino employees and the bank depositors. (https://www.bulatlat.com)
