East meets west and art finds a cause.
The National Union of Peoples’ Lawyers (NUPL) will hold “Legal Legato”, a piano concert on July 24, 2012, Tuesday at 6:30 to 8:00 o’clock in the evening at the Aldaba Recital Hall, Magsaysay St., University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. Proceeds go into NUPL’s programs and legal services.
“Legal Legato” features Lies Colman, a Belgium-based international musician whose repertoire consists of works from early classical to contemporary music. She will be joined by Italian-trained Filipina soprano Rica Nepomuceno, who is a faculty member at the University of the Philippines, College of Music.
Established in September 2007, the NUPL is a nationwide association of human rights lawyers, law students and paralegals that provides pro bono services to basic sectors of society. It lawyers for victims of violations of civil and political rights and also handles cases involving socio-economic and environmental issues, consumer rights and other public interest cases.
