MANILA — Youths led by the League of Filipino Students protested at daybreak at the US embassy, condemning the role of the US government and President Aquino in the bloody Mamasapano operations.

The group also called for Aquino’s resignation.

The youth activists threw yellow paint bombs at the US embassy seal, and burned a mock flag of the US.

“Those who died in Mamasapano are victims of the Aquino government’s fawning subservience to the US. They were Aquino’s blood sacrifices for the badge of loyalty for the US,” said LFS National Spokesperson Charisse Bañez.

“Statements from the PNP and AFP top brass suggest that Aquino coordinated with the US in ensuring that the goal to capture Marwan will be accomplished,” said Bañez.

Bañez criticized the ongoing Senate and House hearings on the Mamasapano operations for “downplaying” the involvement of President Aquino and the US government.

“The breadth of lies expressed by Aquino’s allies and apologists prove their insincerity in delivering to truth to the families of those who died in Mamasapano,” she said.

“Aquino has wagered the lives of SAF troops and civilians in a counterterrorist war spearheaded and controlled by his foreign master. It is only by removing his puppet regime from power can justice and peace truly be served,” Bañez said. (https://www.bulatlat.com)
