Araullo also asserted that Arroyo clings on to power by blindly following the dictates of US imperialism, by tolerating the corruption of generals, by bribing congressmen and politicians and even bishops and by implementing repressive measures against the people.

Meanwhile, Mother Mary John Mananzan, OSB, said she is reminded of a scene in the Bible when Jesus was angered by the desecration of His Father’s temple. She likened the scene to today’ s situation, “They have made our country a den of thieves.”
