MANILA – The mandatory three-day notice has been handed down to the family of Mary Jane Veloso, her lawyers and concerned Philippine embassy officials said today, April 25.

Mary Jane is scheduled to be executed by firing squad on Tuesday, April 28.

The notice was given just a day after the Indonesian lawyers of Mary Jane, along with Veloso family’s pro bono private lawyers, filed a petition for a second judicial review on grounds that she is a victim of drug and human trafficking, and shortly after her bittersweet reunion with her family and two sons.

In the wee hours of April 24, Mary Jane was brought to Nusakumbangan island, dubbed as “execution island.”

Mary Jane was arrested five years ago for allegedly carrying 2.6 kilograms of heroin, stitched to the linings of a luggage lent to her by her recruiter. (https://www.bulatlat.com)
