Fathers committed to shaping a brighter future for their children

For these young men, being “tatay” means working, not only for their children, but for the whole future generation.

The father stereotype — the breadwinner, provider, disciplinarian – has been shattered in many ways in the changing lifestyle of the Filipino family. There are fathers who stay at home and take care of children, while the mothers work abroad; fathers who work at home, single fathers, gay fathers.

In celebration of Fathers’ day, Bulatlat.com interviewed two youth leaders, who also break the stereotype, as part of the struggle to break the system: the activist fathers.
