I was prepared to be disappointed with NatDem politics but instead, I became more immersed in their mass campaigns. I was overwhelmed with several political realizations: Here was a movement making democracy work through collective leadership, here was a political force whose strength is linked to the empowerment of its members in the grassroots, here was history claiming the present to build a new future.

These “norms” for majority of my brothers and sisters in Mindanao are not merely borne out of discrimination and religious puns; these are consequences of decades-long imposition of all-out war, militarization, land-grabbing, and vulgarization of our culture.
Ang sariling wika ay bahagi ng kultura at instrumento ng pagkakaisa. Ang pagpapaunlad ng sariling wika ay magreresulta sa pagpapalaya hindi lang ng bayan kundi ng kaisipan.
It is methodical, thorough, repetitive, but never dull. That’s why those who lampoon the mundaneness of rallies are either clueless commenters, misinformed keyboard analysts, or apologists of the state.
Let me ask fellow PMAers, the generals of the AFP and PNP mentioned above, what has happened to the PMA Honor Code of NOT TO LIE, NOT TO STEAL, NOT TO CHEAT nor TOLERATE THOSE WHO DO?
Rather than blame the poor and the victims, let us blame and seek solutions for this obviously flawed, foreign-patented, non-transparent automated elections system in an elite democracy.
Thus, our task after this disastrous and fraudulent election isn't to book flights overseas nor to scorn our country as an unlovable mess. No. Our task is simple but arduous: to educate, organize, and mobilize the masses; to awaken more of our messiah.
