By JANESS ANN J. ELLAO
Migrante International said the government's "slow, dismaying and disorganized action" in repatriating overseas Filipino workers who were trapped in strife-torn Libya should not be repeated in other countries in the Middle East and North Africa, where protest actions against governments intensify. | Sidebar: OFW Recalls Danger in Libya, Denounces Neglect by Philippine Government | FULL COVERAGE: Anti-government protests in Libya and elsewhere

NPA Blames Military for Botanist’s Death, Refutes Encounter Claim by Army

By RONALYN V. OLEA
The NPA said its guerrillas were not in the area where Leonard Co and two others were killed. It said it did not venture into the area because it was disadvantageous. “It is too heavily guarded by the 19th IB, the police, paramilitary and private security guards. Why would the NPA put itself at unnecessary risk when there are far better options for launching a tactical offensive?"

The Birth of the People’s Party

Are we finally seeing average Americans stand up and demand a fair shake in an economy now grotesquely tilted toward the wealthy and the privileged? Benjie Oliveros | Heed the People’s Call for Immediate Relief

It seems that the Aquino government would rather let the Filipino people suffer than lean on oil companies to "moderate their greed." It is more scared of facing the wrath of the IMF-WB than the Filipino people.
