Family of missing activist Jonas Burgos gathered today at the Commission of Human Rights in Quezon City to deplore his continuing disappearance 12 years ago since his abduction.
“Neri Colmenares has always supported our call for justice…We want him in the senate.”
President Duterte’s fellow Mindanawons – the Moro and Lumad – are among the many recently disappeared.
“We call on him to tell us where Jonas is.”
The next hearing on the case is on July 17.
“This is another effort to distract us from searching for James and seeking justice.”
It’s the eighth Cordillera Day since James Balao was disappeared.
For every victim of injustice, a rights defender rises.
“If he is dead, return his remains to his family. We just want him back.”
